Coral Springs Ranked Sixth Safest City in Florida as Crime Hits Two-Decade Low |

Coral Springs has been ranked the sixth safest city in Florida, according to a new statewide analysis — and the underlying Coral Springs crime rate data shows a trend that may matter even more.
The ranking, compiled by SafeWise using FBI crime statistics, places Coral Springs among the safest large cities in the state. Even more notable: reported crimes in the city have fallen to a two-decade low.
The shift marks an improvement from last year, when Coral Springs ranked ninth in Florida.
Coral Springs Crime Rate: What the Data Shows
SafeWise evaluates cities using violent crime and property crime statistics reported to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
That includes aggravated assault, robbery, murder, rape, burglary, larceny-theft, and motor vehicle theft.
According to FBI data, the number of reported crimes in Coral Springs has steadily declined over the past several years, reaching its lowest point in more than 20 years.
This isn’t a single-year fluctuation. It reflects a sustained downward trend.
How Coral Springs Compares to Other Florida Cities
Thirty-five Florida cities met the population criteria for SafeWise’s 2026 ranking. Coral Springs placed sixth overall and was one of the largest cities on the list.
Other South Florida cities in the top ten included Hialeah Gardens, Sunny Isles Beach, Miami Lakes, and Cutler Bay. Coral Springs’ ranking improved from ninth place in 2025 to sixth in 2026.
Year-over-year movement matters. It signals momentum, not just stability.
Why This Matters Beyond Rankings
Safety rankings influence more than headlines. They affect: * Family relocation decisions
Coral Springs has also seen steady investment in infrastructure, park upgrades, mobility planning, and downtown development. Public safety trends often intersect with those broader civic investments.
While Florida residents report decreasing concerns about property crime statewide, SafeWise notes that cybercrime continues to rise. That context underscores the importance of understanding both local crime data and broader statewide trends.
Is Coral Springs Safe?
The measurable data suggests continued progress.
Crime totals are at a two-decade low. The city ranks among Florida’s safest municipalities. And the improvement is not static — it reflects upward movement in the rankings compared to last year.
For residents, that may not change daily routines. But it reinforces a longer-term pattern: Coral Springs continues to position itself as a stable, lower-risk city within a fast-growing region.
Rankings fluctuate. Trends tell the real story.
And right now, the Coral Springs crime rate points in a direction residents tend to value.
