Coral Springs Public Art Project Invites Residents to Help Shape Park Experience |

Apr 10, 2026
Coral Springs is exploring new ways to involve residents in how public spaces evolve, starting with a proposed art installation at Pride Promoters Park.
As part of a broader park enhancement plan, the city is inviting the community to help name characters featured in a new interactive sculpture titled “Wild Connections.”
A Small Entry Point Into a Larger Project
The sculpture is one element of a larger proposed upgrade that includes improvements to the playground, basketball court, and the addition of outdoor fitness equipment.
While the naming contest is a light and accessible way to participate, it reflects a broader effort to make public spaces feel more connected to the community.
Why Participation Matters
Public spaces often feel more active and welcoming when residents feel a sense of ownership.
Inviting input, even in small ways, can create early engagement and increase how often people use and care for shared areas.
How Cities Build Connection
Across many cities, projects like this are part of a growing approach to urban design that emphasizes participation, identity, and accessibility. Rather than introducing changes without input, cities are finding ways to involve residents earlier in the process.
What Happens Next
The full enhancement project is expected to go before the City Commission, with funding and timelines to be determined if approved.
If it moves forward, the updates could gradually change how the park is used and experienced by the surrounding community.
