A New Way to Notice Coral Springs

Michael Holland
Jan 8, 2026
Welcome to the first issue of Coral Springs Insider.
This week touches on good food, thoughtful civic work, and a few quieter stories that say a lot about this place. It felt like the right way to begin. |
Why This Exists: A Quick Note |
If you live here, you already know there’s more to Coral Springs than calendars and headlines. Most days, what shapes life here isn’t dramatic. It’s the small, steady things - the places that quietly do a good job, the routines that work, the details you only notice after living here for a while. Coral Springs Insider exists to pay attention to that layer of the city. Not to explain it. Over time, that attention adds up. It creates context. It makes a place feel more legible, more familiar, and a little more appreciated. That’s the role this newsletter is meant to play - alongside everything else you already follow - as a steady, local presence that understands how life here actually works. Nothing more than that. And nothing less. Now, on to the fun! |
Runyon's Steakhouse |
Runyon’s Steakhouse has long been one of those places locals return to without much debate. The appeal isn’t flashy - it’s the familiarity, ambiance, and knowing what kind of night you’re getting.

Every so often, a local food trend becomes noticeable not because it’s new - but because it keeps happening.
Over the past few years, New York–style bagel shops have continued to appear across Coral Springs, joining an already crowded field of similar spots.
The latest addition, Long Island Bagel Cafe, is set to open this year, adding one more entry to a category that doesn’t seem to slow down.
On its own, that might not mean much. Taken together, though, the repetition raises a more interesting question about who the city serves - and why certain concepts feel so at home here. Read More... |
For many people, museums are places to observe. Increasingly, they’re also becoming places to participate.
At the Coral Springs Museum of Art, a new program is using the gallery space itself as part of an art therapy experience for veterans and teens.
The sessions aren’t about producing finished pieces or learning technique. They’re designed around presence, process, and connection — with art serving as a different kind of language.
It raises an interesting question about how cultural spaces are being reimagined — and what role they can play beyond exhibitions and events. Read More... |
Some city improvements are easy to miss — not because they’re small, but because they quietly change who gets included.
In the coming months, Pride Promoters Park in Coral Springs will reopen with a series of accessibility-focused upgrades, including a modern playground, inclusive fitness equipment, and an ADA-compliant basketball court.
On paper, it’s a straightforward renovation project. In practice, it reflects a broader shift in how public spaces are being designed — and who they’re being designed for.
It raises a simple but important question: what does “access” actually look like when a city gets it right? Read More... |
