This week’s stories point toward what comes next for Coral Springs.

Some are measurable, like progress in education. Others are more symbolic, like how public spaces are being shaped to reflect shared history.

Together, they offer a thoughtful snapshot of forward motion.

A Town That's Looking Ahead

There’s a certain feeling that comes from watching a place grow with intention. Students reaching milestones. Public spaces taking on new meaning.

Families gathering for simple, shared moments. It’s not one big change, but a series of small signs that a community is thinking about what comes next.

Graduation rates are climbing at several Coral Springs high schools, and the trend appears to be holding.

State data released this month show J.P. Taravella High School reaching a 97.2 percent graduation rate in 2025, up more than six points since 2022.

Coral Glades High School, Coral Springs High School, and Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School all posted graduation rates near or above 98 percent.

Districtwide, Broward County crossed the 90 percent graduation mark for the first time in 25 years.

The results suggest progress that goes beyond a single graduating class and point to steady improvements across local schools.

Debuting in spring 2026, the artworks will remain on display for a full year, with the possibility that one piece becomes a permanent fixture in the city.

Funded through public art fees paid by private developers, the project expands Coral Springs’ cultural landscape without adding costs for local taxpayers.

The installations are designed for everyday visibility, appearing in high-traffic spaces and highlighted during moments like the May 1 community concert and Fourth of July celebrations.

Overseen by the city’s Public Art Committee, the initiative reflects a longer-term effort to make art part of daily civic life, not just special occasions.
