Taravella Heads to State, Spring Festival Returns

Michael Holland
Feb 26, 2026
This week carries real forward motion.
Salon She steps into the Spotlight, J.P. Taravella earns a place at the Florida Thespian Festival, and the Spring Garden Festival shows how local spaces support wildlife year-round.
With concerts and spring events stacking up, this is one of those weeks that can fill itself if you let it. Pick one thing now so it doesn’t slip. |
Salon She |
Salon She holds a 4.7 Google rating and a 4.4 SENTY score. In the last 50 reviews, repeat clients consistently mention healthier hair and standout silk presses.
We looked at what keeps execution strong, and why sew-in installs are drawing mixed reviews.

What is SENTY?

A Small Reset Before the Weekend |
With performances, festivals, and spring events on the calendar, this is a good week to reset one small detail you’ve been postponing.
Clear a corner of your desk. Refresh a playlist for your drive. Schedule the appointment you keep nudging to next week.
Choose something you can complete in under twenty minutes. A small finish often changes how the rest of the week feels. |
More than 1,100 injured native animals are treated each year at the Sawgrass Nature Center — and this weekend’s Spring Orchid and Garden Festival helps make that possible.
The biannual event returns Feb. 28–March 1 in Coral Springs, drawing plant lovers, garden vendors, and families for what feels like a seasonal outing with a deeper impact.
Most visitors come for orchids. The funding supports wildlife rehabilitation long after the tents come down.
If you’re thinking of going, mornings tend to be cooler and less crowded. Read More... |
Only 10 high school productions statewide were selected for the 2026 Florida Thespian State Festival. J.P. Taravella made the list for the first time in 11 years.
The Coral Springs school will stage a March 12 encore of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum as it prepares for the statewide performance.
This marks just the fifth festival selection in school history — all under director Lori Sessions.
If you’re planning to attend, limited Student Rush tickets are released one hour before curtain. Read More... |

Registration is open for the Coral Springs Museum of Art’s Summer Art Camp, a full-day creative program for children ages 5 to 12 running June 8 through July 31. Flexible weekly registration, free morning care, and optional aftercare are available. Learn more here. |
If You Only Do One Thing This Week... |
Consider: Elton John & Billy Joel Tribute Night |
Two pianos. A packed house. Familiar anthems filling the room. “Yellow Brick Joel” brings the music of Elton John and Billy Joel to the Coral Springs Center for the Arts for one night only — a tribute performance built around big choruses and shared nostalgia. When: Fri, Feb 27 · (7:30 PM)
If you go, center-stage sightlines matter more than usual with a dual-piano setup. Seats closer to the middle offer the most balanced experience. |
Walk on Wednesday – Live Music at The Walk |
String lights overhead. Lawn chairs unfolding. Classic beach-rock drifting through the courtyard.
The Walk’s weekly outdoor music series continues Wednesday evening with live performance in the open air — an easy midweek reason to linger over dinner or dessert.
When: Wed, Mar 4 · (6–8 PM)
A relaxed option if you want live music without committing to a ticketed show. |

There is something energizing about a week like this. Progress, preparation, and a full calendar all at once.
What are you most likely to do this weekend: orchid festival, live music, or something quieter?
I’m glad you’re here for it.
